Formation for Chelsea Empty Formation for Chelsea

A good formation with Chelsea is 4 - 2 - 2 - 2. With both Drogba and Anelka upfront. Anelka for his speed and Drogba for his strength. Maloulda and Lampard behind them and then Mikel and Ballack as holding midfields. Quite easy to break away with Anelka, and with Drogba heading the ball down to him makes a good partnership.

I think the Default Formation worked great for us towards the end of tonight.

Deco is a must IMHO, because of his Long Pass Skills,
All of the midfield are great through-ball players, and with follow-up support I (drogba) Was able to Score and assist many goals.

I agree that if we're winning high, or If we get to half time in a a match and are really struggling to make chances, we can always experiment, with the 4-2-2-2, But while the default is working so well, we should really stick with it.

Yeah, I had posted that before our performances last night. We played really well with the default formation. That formation can always be a back up.

Yeah,

We usually have about 6 on.

with a 5 man midfield there's plenty of spaces there for people,

usually I'm Drogba, and if Lipu is on he plays "ANY" and covers the defence.

The main problem with changing from the default formations is that it takes a lot of time to make all of the changes.

The 4-5-1 works well for Chelsea, and since we don't have a lot in the way of Strikers it makes sense to ahve only 1 play at a time, then maybe sub off Drogba for Anelka around 60-70mins, depending on how Drogba is playing. I don't me how GodfatherObie is playing, as some strikers play better against certain defences. Anelka has lightening pace, but Drogba has the physical prescence.

the only changes worth making I find is switching the custom tactics around, like from organised to Free-form, increasing build up speed and team width. These settings will incourage the full-backs to get forward, just the the real Chelsea team.

Yup,

As long as the Defence is AI Controlled with an "Any" Player.

If it's a full 10 man team its pointless making these changes, We just have to hope our human defence is good enough
