I know its not really a tactic but i need to say i dont think we make enough substitutions considering the strength we have on the bench

True, I would have to agree. Some fresh legs can make all the difference towards the end of a game.

I agree.

Whoever is Captain for a match (it varies)

Needs to Make a few, use your head.

maybe Anelka for Drogba if he's not playing well,
Malouda for Joe Cole (And switch Malouda onto Left, with Deco on Right)
Essien on for Obi Mikel
Alex on for Carvalho
Kalou on for Ballack/joe cole (if we want a more attacking midfield

Best time to make any substitutions is around the 60 minute mark, ans it's oonly really after that when players start to look tired,
Captain needs to keep an eye on player bars at the bottom, and look for those who are low.,
