IMPORTANT, NEW TACTIC

Last night we tried a new tactic, and for a whole 45 minutes (game time) Every time somebody got the ball, it was hoofed up field with a migthy through ball towards Drogba.

Like in the first game it takes some getting used to, But with a little practice, well placed through balls where accountable for about 10 of 15-20 goals we scored afterwards.
And there where far less defensive errors as any risky balls where immediatly cleared upto or past the half way line,

Nobody has to do it ALL of the time, But please remember, if theres nobody Free to pass to, It is far better knocking a through ball to drogba, than to risk getting caught in possession

i totally agree with your last statement, when in doubt thats the best play we have..... not only does it give drogba a chance it aslso allows the 4 mids to clean up and heading clear from the defense.

only problem is we have to use it when we dont have anything else, a couple times we had a nice ground through ball to a open guy or a simple pass availiable and people just kicked up.

if you are trapped or dont know what to do with the ball long through ball.

another thing is just simple passes to drogba with the x works well too, because auto passing just a simple x to the forward goes right to his foot.

well we will try trying....

also on crosses we have to keep in mind to spread out around the 18, alot of times 5 ppl were all within the 18
maybe 2 inside, 2 at the top and 1 far far post would work better.

Auto passing? All mines on manual lol.
In terms of crossing, I always make sure that i'm in the centre of the area if Obie has gone wide for the ball...
If it's a winger or someone else crossing it, i stay at the edge or just inside and then run forward to get momentum on it, thats how i scored my goal from adwan's cross last night.
