IMPORTANT, NEW TACTIC

Last night we tried a new tactic, and for a whole 45 minutes (game time) Every time somebody got the ball, it was hoofed up field with a migthy through ball towards Drogba.

Like in the first game it takes some getting used to, But with a little practice, well placed through balls where accountable for about 10 of 15-20 goals we scored afterwards.

And there where far less defensive errors as any risky balls where immediatly cleared upto or past the half way line,

Nobody has to do it ...

Slow defenders vs fast attackers

I find it difficult to stop fast attackers like Torres and Villa when they get a breakthrough pass between the full back and the CB or above them. The strikers can run past them and get a 1v1 against the goalie. How is the best way to defend against it? Any ideas?

I know it's important to keep the four defenders on a straight line for as long as possible. I think it's smart to slowly run backwards when they're counter attacking instead of meeting them.

When talking about defense there ...

Single player

Talking about single player online. I'm getting a bit frustrated as i create a lot of opportunities which get wasted.

When you put a through ball over the top of the defender and your striker is chasing it, why does the striker slow down and stare into the skies? which results in a good opportunity being wasted?

In the same situation but when your defending, my defender just stares into the sky or slows down completely allowing the striker to go through and score.

Can something ...

I'm not sure what everyone else does but I have changed my settings for Be A Pro so it uses the Tele camera.

As a tip I would suggest everone does this. I find it really makes a difference, especially when running with the ball, as you can still see what is going on around you so you can make the perfect pass, or take the sot on a the right moment.

IMO the Be A Pro camera is rubbish and serves only as a gimick. It's awfull when it zooms in on the player when you run, so you can't see ...

Seeing as all the stats for each player are the same in club mode, I think it would make sense to assign player roles such as corners, fk's, penaltys to whoever is strongest at them. I'd quite like to try corners, but not so keen on free kicks. Any thoughts?

I noticed playing last night that we don't have a plan exactly about freekicks. I suppose it doesnt matter who takes them cause of the equal stats, but do we shoot from them, pass, cross, hit it out wide, get a second player in and pass to the side for a shot or through ball? I think if we have some sort of general plan(s) then we can create a couple more goal scoring situations.

What do you think?

simple defending

We lost out to this a few times last night.

When you pick up the ball/win it from an attacker in defence, DO NOT try and run it out of the box! DO NOT try and do fancy turns, this doesn't work as the defenders are not skillful enough players to do this, they do not have the stats. Quite simply, look for a pass and if that isn't an option then clear the ball up field or as a last resort put it out of play for a throw-in. This is far less damaging than conceeding a silly goal.

Formation for Chelsea

A good formation with Chelsea is 4 - 2 - 2 - 2. With both Drogba and Anelka upfront. Anelka for his speed and Drogba for his strength. Maloulda and Lampard behind them and then Mikel and Ballack as holding midfields. Quite easy to break away with Anelka, and with Drogba heading the ball down to him makes a good partnership.

Passing and quick play

Simple really, we need to be passing a lot more than we do at the moment. Quick simple passes make it a lot more difficult for the opposing team to close us down and win the ball off us.

Players running with the ball will normally lose out to a defender when side by side, this is the ideal time to make that pass. By all means we should run with the ball, draw a defender (or 3) to you but as they get close pass the ball away, there will now be a gap somewhere on the field where the defender(s) ...

But if every anyone has spare time, Be sure to try our "Be a Pro - Seasons"

I'd highly recommend Choosing "Current Pro" and be your usual player,

While you will have to initiate most plays (Because we wont be around to do it for you)

The Opposition will be quite good, (Put it onto "Pro" Difficulty, and imho thats not far off how most people play online
